John Macdonald BSc (Geology) was a mining analyst for Eyres Reed McIntosh, Eyres Reed Limited and CIBC World Markets Australia in the years from 1986 to 2001. He was the main contributor and editor of the annual Eyres Reed Australian Gold Book from 1993 to 2001 and was awarded best gold analyst by the publisher of the Australian Mines Handbook in 1996 and 1997. In 2000 John was appointed Head of Research for CIBC World Markets Australia, after CIBC World Markets took over the operations of Eyres Reed Limited. In 2002 John formed Independent Mining Research and in 2007 Green Leader Equities Research.
